  • University of Kentucky Professional Education Preparation Program Discover Modern Dentistry

    PEPP-DMD is a one-week residential summer program, June 23-June 28, 2024, administered by the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD). Prior to 2019, this program was funded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In 2018, all Kentucky PEPP programs lost state funding. UKCD appreciates the value of the program's mission to educate students who demonstrate the potential and desire to return to dentally underserved areas of Kentucky to practice. The PEPP-DMD program is now funded by the UKCD Dean’s Office.

  • Loma Linda Minorities in Dentistry

    Our Minorities in Dentistry workshop is designed to promote dental education for ethnic and cultural groups who are underrepresented in the dental industry. As a participant, you’ll learn why dentistry is an excellent career choice, how to get into a dental or dental hygiene program, and how to finance your education.

  • Stony Brook Discover Dental School: Summer Scholars Program

    This academic enrichment program is designed for all individuals who are considering a career in dentistry. Working in Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine's advanced preclinical laboratory, participating students will gain valuable hands-on experience and will discover what the preclinical courses of dental school are truly like. With the assistance of faculty and current students, this five-day program will help to enlighten you and confirm your interest in dentistry.

  • S.M.I.L.E. (Student Mentoring with Immersive Learning and Enrichment) Healthcare Pathway Program

    The S.M.I.L.E. (Student Mentoring with Immersive Learning and Enrichment) Healthcare Pathway Program is a partnership between Henry Schein, Inc. the National Dental Association, and other professional associations to help mentor future healthcare professionals, enhance health literacy, expand diversity in the healthcare workforce and ultimately improve health and overall outcomes in underserved communities nationwide.

  • Texas A&M Summer Pre-Dental (SPEP) High School Grades 10 & 11

    Learn more about the field of dentistry. The curriculum for the SPEP 10 & 11 consists of: preclinical dentistry provides lectures and hands-on laboratory exercises with dental materials, investigation dentistry allows students to investigate a dental topic and present their findings and cultural competency seminar.

  • UTHealth San Antonio Learning Enhancement for Achievement in Dentistry (LEAD)

    The objective of LEAD 1-3 is to provide opportunities for college students to strengthen their academic science background, prepare for and successfully take the DAT, improve leadership qualities, and increase the knowledge of a career in dentistry. Program participants who engage, acquire knowledge, and actively participate in the program activities will be more competitive applicants for admission to dental school.

  • VCU Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP)

    SAEP is a six-week summer program that simulates the first-year of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy or physical therapy professional school instruction. Participants take academically intensive instruction in each of their chosen tracks in addition to non-credit core-coursework in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology. SAEP participants attend learning skills and test-taking workshops, mock interviews, professionalism seminars, current health care topics, coaching and community service activities in an interprofessional framework.

  • UNC at Chapel Hill Science Enrichment Preparation (S.E.P.) Program

    Gain the competitive edge with S.E.P.! Held each summer on the UNC Chapel Hill campus, the S.E.P. Program is an eight-week, honors-level academic enrichment program that targets first-generation, rural, and/or socioeconomically disadvantaged undergraduate students (rising sophomores and juniors) who seek admission into Medical School or Dental School. Additionally, Scholars will receive educational supplies, lodging on the UNC Chapel Hill campus, limited travel expenses (contingent upon funding) and a competitive stipend.

  • University of Michigan Profile for Success Program

    The purpose of Profile for Success (PFS) is to assist junior and senior level college students and recent graduates through the admissions process for dental school. Program participants will also have an opportunity to increase their knowledge of career opportunities within dentistry.

    As a participant, you must commit to taking advantage of the various opportunities made available to facilitate your entry into the dental professions.

  • Touro University Pre-Dental Experience

    The Pre-Dental Experience is a 4-day program designed to introduce undergraduate students to the world of dentistry. Led by TCDM faculty, you will learn about your dental career options, experience hands-on lab exercises, and see the latest in digital dentistry technology in an intimate setting. You’ll have the opportunity to meet students at TCDM, tour our state-of-the-art clinic, and gain a sneak peek into life as a TCDM dental student. This informative week can help you explore the field of dentistry to help you decide if this is the career path you have been dreaming of!

  • Texas A&M Summer Pre-Dental Enrichment (SPEP) High School Grade 12

    SPEP 12 is a four-week program that provides rising 12th graders an opportunity to learn about the dental profession, prepare for and successfully take the SAT and increase their competitiveness for admission to college.

    SPEP 12 will provide students an opportunity to: Prepare for SAT, Learn more about the field of dentistry, Learn useful study strategies for high school and college, and more.

  • Texas A&M Summer Pre-Dental Enrichment (SPEP) Collegiate I

    SPEP Collegiate I is a five-week program that will provide graduating high school students with an interest in dentistry an opportunity to:

    ~Become familiar with the college environment
    ~Learn more about and broaden their interest in dentistry
    ~Start preparing for the Dental Admissions Test (DAT)

  • University of Minnesota Discover Dental School (DDS)

    The 2024-25 Discover Dental School (DDS) will be a hybrid, year-long program running June 3, 2024 - May 30, 2025. The program will include live Zoom sessions June 2024 - May 2025, asynchronous online learning and assignments via Canvas, an intensive three day hands-on session at the dental school during the summer of 2025. The program is free for participants. More details will be provided to the selected participants.

  • NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP)

    This program is for college, graduate and professional students interested in exploring careers in research and healthcare. These are full-time research positions within one of the NIH Institutes and Centers (IC) in the NIH Intramural Research Program. Research groups are located on all NIH campuses, including the main campus in Bethesda, MD.

    Summer interns work in a research groups directed by a Principal Investigator (PI). We offer research opportunities in the biomedical, behavioral, and social sciences with opportunities to explore basic, translational, and clinical research.

  • University of Missouri Kansas City STAHR Dental Scholars (DAT Prep)

    Participation in the Scholars Program is free. Students who meet program expectations will receive financial support as stipends and/or scholarships. Support also comes from a partnership with GEHA Solutions through the “GEHA Solutions Diversity in Dentistry Pre-Dental Fellowships”.

    Collegiate-level students can participate as a DAT Prep Scholar so long as admission to a health professional program has not yet been achieved.

  • STAHR Collegiate

    University of Missouri Kansas City STAHR Collegiate Scholars

    Participation in the Scholars Program is free. Students who meet program expectations will receive financial support as stipends and/or scholarships.

    Collegiate-level students can participate in the Scholars Program so long as admission to a health professional program has not yet been achieved, starting from the summer prior to their freshman year of college through post-baccalaureate status.

  • University of Missouri Kansas City STAHR High School Scholars

    Participation in the Scholars Program is free. Students who meet program expectations will receive financial support as stipends and/or scholarships.

    High school students can participate in the Scholars Program starting the summer prior to their junior year (11th grade), or the summer prior to their senior year (12th grade). Graduating high school students are eligible to participate as a Collegiate Scholar.

  • University of Detroit Mercy Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)

    The Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) provides educational and professional development experiences for under-resourced students to become more competitive dental school candidates and pursue a dentistry career. SEP is a summer residential program that provides free housing, DAT preparation and a stipend to cover food and travel expenses.

  • The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP)

    The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free summer program for students to explore their interests in medicine, dentistry, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, and more. The program takes place at our 12 partner institutions and offers students a chance to develop competencies for becoming successful applicants to health profession programs, plan academic journeys, get clinical exposure, and network.

  • New York University Research Education in Oral Health Sciences (REOHS) Program

    The 9-week Research Education in Oral Health Sciences program has two goals: 1) Encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue further studies or careers in research; 2) Increase representation in the oral health sciences.

    Housed in NYU Dentistry’s research labs and facilities, REOHS will provide an immersive summer experience through research, professional and educational workshops, and faculty and peer mentorship.

  • Oregon Health & Science University Summit Dental Education Immersion

    It’s not too soon to get hands-on experience in the dental arts. The OHSU School of Dentistry offers programs for students considering or preparing for a career in dentistry.

    Summit is an intensive four-week residential immersion program designed to give you a true-to-life taste of the experience of attending dental school. It’s a unique opportunity to burnish your dental school application and understand what it takes to undergo the rigors of a DMD program.

  • Penn Introduction to Dentistry Summer Program

    Whether a prospective dental student or just beginning to consider a dental career, this week-long, commuter program for undergraduate college students will introduce you to the field of dental medicine. You will gain hands-on experience in the type of preclinical coursework encountered in dental school, attend lectures, and learn about the dental school admissions process.
